heart-shaped eggs

21 Apr heart-shaped eggs

I’m not sure if this is a win or a fail. I was searching for some non-sugary Easter treats to offer my kids, and I ended up on a bento box designer’s blog and thought these little heart-shaped eggs were so cute:

So I followed the directions, and mine were less cute:

And the kids did not for one second mistake them for treats.

I haven’t given up hope yet. Anyone have ideas for healthier goodies?

I have to say that I’ve got no ideas for non-sugary treats really. My little one is getting some sugary treats and some of the Annie’s cheddar bunnies and bunny fruit snacks.

However, I did have an awesome time exploring that bento site and now I want some of those molds. Bunny eggs are too cute!

We love homemade popsicles with really ripe fruit (no sugar needed) but you are right, kids just don’t want healthy food. They love sugar, fat, and colored dyes. Maybe their bodies crave it!!! Ha ha!

We are doing bunny graham and cinnamon crackers, bunny gummies, and some jelly bellies :) I also think a matchbox car or two will be in some eggs as well as some stickers/tattoos. I’m debating the whole chocolate rabbit though, as I LOVE them and they bring back good memories, it’s just a TON of chocolate for their little bellies…
